UN food agency cites funding gap as it halts aid to 650,000 in Ethiopia 

The World Food Program (WFP) is suspending aid for 650,000 women and children in Ethiopia. The UN agency has warned that a lack of funding may cause 3.6 million people in Ethiopia overall to risk losing access to food aid soon, unless new financial aid is approved. The WFP will stop its aid delivery in June if additional funding is not received. The funding issues come from US President Trump’s issuing of funding cuts, including the executive order signed in January which froze all foreign aid.
