The U.S. military has carried out strikes against an Iranian-backed armed group in Syria. This is the military’s second operation in two days. The operations come in response to a recent rocket attack against U.S. forces at a base in Syria. U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has not specified the targets of the airstrikes or how many airstrikes were conducted. CENTCOM stated only that the “group’s weapons storage and logistics headquarters” were hit. There was no damage to the U.S. base or injuries to U.S. forces.
