Vietnam ends death penalty for 8 crimes, may spare real estate tycoon

Vietnam has moved to limit the use of the death penalty.

Vietnam has eliminated the death penalty as a punishment for eight crimes. The crimes included attempting to overthrow the government and damaging state infrastructure. The law will be implemented immediately and individuals currently sentenced to death will likely have their sentences commuted.
