A Pakistani released from the U.S. detention center at Guantanamo Bay last year has demanded $10.4 million in damages from the U.S. government for suffering and losses caused, his lawyer said on Sunday. Muhammad Ikram Chaudhry, a lawyer of former inmate Muhammad Sagheer Khan, said the demands had been sent via the U.S. embassy to the U.S. secretaries of defense, state and justice. The compensation claimed was for “mental suffering, financial losses and physical and religious victimization,” he said.
