An Indonesian court Monday convicted an Islamic militant of bombing the Philippine ambassador’s house in 2000 and sentenced him to 20 years in prison. Abdul Jabar was also found guilty of involvement in two church bombings on Christmas Eve 2000. Officials have blamed the attacks on the al-Qaida linked Southeast Asia terror group Jemaah Islamiyah. “We the judges state that Abdul Jabar has been lawfully proven guilty” on charges of possessing and using explosive materials, said Pramodana Kusumah, who presided over a three-judge panel.
