N Korea 'allows US nuclear visit'

North Korea has reportedly agreed to let a group of US experts visit its top nuclear facility at Yongbyon. The visit, set to take place next week, would mark the first time outsiders had seen the plant since nuclear inspectors were forced to leave a year ago. According to a US paper, the delegation will include a senior nuclear scientist and a number of foreign policy aides. An unnamed US State Department official termed the visit a “private initiative” which the government had no role in. North Korea is under pressure from its ally China to resume talks with the US on its nuclear ambitions. The last round of negotiations, held in Beijing in August, ended without progress. Full Story
