After five months without an official spokesman, the Earth Liberation Front again has a public face. Portland student Leslie James Pickering, 23, says he will answer questions about the ELF and explain the militant environmental group to the public. In a statement issued Saturday, Pickering said the ELF would “not be intimidated” by the war on terrorism and increased law enforcement powers after Sept. 11, and would continue its fight for the environment.
