The Department of State warns American citizens to defer travel to India and strongly urges that American citizens in India depart. Conditions along India`s border with Pakistan and in the state of Jammu & Kashmir have deteriorated. Tensions have risen to serious levels, and the risk of intensified military hostilities between India and Pakistan cannot be ruled out. As a result of these concerns, the Department has authorized and strongly encouraged the departure of all U.S. Government personnel in non-emergency positions and family members in India. Full Story
