Palestinian presidential favorite Mahmud Abbas was accorded a hero’s welcome by West Bank militants of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, an armed group linked to his Fatah party.Abbas was seen walking hand in hand with Zakaria Zubeidi, the chief of the Brigades in the northern West Bank city of Jenin and one of Israel’s most wanted men, as he toured the area followed by dozens of armed militants. Zubeidi and other Brigades members carried Abbas on their shoulders as he visited a cemetery in Jenin’s refugee camp where the victims of a massive Israeli raid in early 2002 are buried.Full Story
