An appeals court in Chile has confirmed the release of former military ruler Augusto Pinochet on bail. The ruling follows a request by the judge leading the investigation, Juan Guzman, for bail to be granted. Gen Pinochet had been placed under house arrest, on charges of murder and kidnapping, at his country residence in Los Boldos in central Chile. Full Story
