President Pervez Musharraf told a bipartisan US Senate delegation on Monday that the efforts of Pakistan security agencies had yielded good results and greatly diminished the operational capability of the global terrorists network. Pakistan is a strong ally of the US in the global war against terrorism. The president also urged the US senators to move from the stage of conflict management and assist in conflict resolution to bring durable peace to South Asia and the Middle East, says a statement from the Foreign Office. Musharraf was speaking to Republicans John McCain, Susan Collins and Lindsey Graham and Democrats Hillary Clinton and Russell Feingold who called on him for an hour-long meeting in the afternoon.
