British police briefly evacuated an East London subway station Saturday in a security alert where one witness reported the smell of something burning. The Metropolitan Police said officers investigated a “security incident” at the Mile End station located on the city’s Central and District lines in London’s East End. A spokesman later said the incident “turned out to be nothing.” Service on parts of the two lines was briefly suspended because of the incident. Full Story
