Brazilian police break up gang that “exported” migrants to U.S.

More than 30 people were arrested Tuesday by Brazilian police in a big operation to dismantle a network that smuggled undocumented migrants into the United States via Mexico, authorities said. After a year of investigation, Operation Coyote, whose name comes from the Mexican slang word for a migrant-smuggler, culminated with a round-up of travel agents and other fixers who recruited candidates for illegal emigration to the United States.
