A public prosecutor called for the death sentence during the final hearing in the trial of the alleged number two in the Yemen branch of the Al-Qaeda terror network. But Saudi-born Mohammed Hamdi al-Ahdal, who was arrested in November 2003, claimed innocence and accused Yemen’s neighbour Saudi Arabia and the United States of putting pressure on the country’s authorities to indict him.
