Islamic militia, who have seized control of the Somali capital and other key towns, advanced on the town of Baladwayne near Ethiopia in a bid to expand their authority, residents said. Residents woke on Thursday to find the militias, supported by local clerics, in control of a key bridge and a prison without any fighting.
