US asked to take stern action against China on currency issue

The US government has come under new pressure to take stern action against China after failing to win firm assurance from Beijing on revaluing its currency. The first high-level economic dialogue between the two powers in Beijing ended Friday with China refusing to budge on American demands that it allow its currency to appreciate.
