Iceland PM, Social Democrats start coalition talks

Iceland’s Prime Minister Geir Haarde opened coalition talks with the Social Democrat Party on Thursday after governing partner the Progressive Party stepped down over a poor showing in national elections. Independence Party leader Haarde and Progressive Party leader John Sigurdsson announced the end of their 12-year centre-right partnership after five days of post-election talks. Full Story
