Japan Extends Sanctions on North Korea for Six Months

Japan extended sanctions it imposed last year on North Korea because of a lack of progress on resolving the issue of abductions of Japanese citizens by North Korean agents, Chief Cabinet Secretary Nobutaka Machimura said. The cabinet approved an extension of six months, Machimura told reporters in Tokyo today after the meeting of ministers. Full Story
