A Bosnian Muslim was sentenced to 35 years in prison on Thursday for murdering three members of a Croat family and wounding another. Muamer Topalovic admitted at his trial this week that he had shot dead three members of the Andjelic family after bursting into their home in the southern village of Kostajnica with a machinegun on Christmas Eve last year. The killings shocked the Balkan country. Topalovic was convicted of murder at a court in the southern town of Mostar. Judge Hamo Kebo said the motive was national and religious hatred. But he said the court took into account Topalovic’s guilty plea and the fact he was mentally unwell at the time of the crime. Full Story
