Saudi Police Officer Slain In Fourth Recent Attack

The chief of a northern Saudi police station was shot dead Monday, the fourth killing of an area government official in recent months, the official Saudi Press Agency said. Colonel Hmoud Ali Al-Rabie, who was in charge of the al-Azizia police station in Sakakah, about 120 miles from the Iraqi border, was killed while driving home from work. No details on the shooting or a possible motive were immediately available. In September, religious court judge Abdulrahman al-Suhaybani was shot dead. The assailants have not been caught. In February, Hamad al-Wardi, a deputy to the prince in charge of the northern al-Jawf province was shot while traveling to work. Full Story
