Agentic AI a ‘Force Multiplier’ for China’s Cyberattacks, Report Says

Artificial intelligence is heightening certain national cybersecurity risks as agentic AI — designed to carry out complex tasks with minimal human oversight — enables adversaries such as China to automate attacks and learn from failed attempts quickly and cheaply, according to a new report released March 11. The technology is a “force multiplier for the modern adversary,” said the “2026 Global Threat Intelligence Report” by Flashpoint, a cyber threat intelligence company. “For national security organizations and critical infrastructure operators, the risk is not just individual intrusions but the industrialization of access, where adversaries can identify and exploit entry points across networks at machine speed,” said Ian Gray, Flashpoint’s vice president of intelligence, in an email interview.
