Anthropic has launched a research preview of Claude Duet, a proactive autonomous agent application built for professionals and small business owners. Powered by Claude Opus 5.5, the app operates independently in virtual environments to prioritize workloads, draft communications, and execute complex multi-step tasks. Users receive morning briefs and notifications only when attention is required, while credential handling and safety classifiers protect sensitive information and prevent unauthorized actions. Integration with over 6,000 tools and marketplace connectors allows Claude Duet to manage calendars, check invoices, process payroll, and coordinate workflows across multiple enterprise apps. The application is initially available via waitlist for US Pro and Max subscribers as a standalone mobile and web experience.
