Figure unveils fireproof humanoid robot battery with 94% more energy capacity

Figure, a California-based robotics company, has introduced the F03 battery, the third generation of its in-house energy platform designed specifically for its humanoid robots. Built entirely at the company’s BotQ facility, the new battery delivers 2.3 kilowatt-hours of energy. That’s enough juice, the company claims, to enable up to five hours of peak performance runtime. It is also the first battery in the humanoid robotics sector undergoing certification for both UN38.3 and UL2271 safety standards. The development marks a major step in Figure’s strategy to integrate all critical hardware systems vertically. According to founder Brett Adcock, Figure succeeds when it controls the full technology stack. In addition to batteries, the company has engineered actuators and structural elements in-house to optimize performance, safety, and scalability. Compared to its original F01 system, which required bulky external battery packs, the F03 battery is fully integrated into the robot’s torso. The battery uses structural materials like stamped steel and die-cast aluminum, allowing it to function as a load-bearing component. This integration saves both space and mass at the robot level while increasing mechanical durability. The F03 achieves a 94 percent increase in energy density over the F01 and a 78 percent cost reduction compared to the prior F02 version.
