Google Cloud has introduced persistent Gemini agents designed to manage complex, multi-day workplace workflows and coordinate tasks independently across different apps. These AI coworkers can be provisioned with their own dedicated Workspace identities, complete with individual email addresses, calendars, and Drive storage. The system features a robust multi-category memory architecture that preserves session, semantic, procedural, and episodic context to handle institutional tasks over time. Aimed at intense enterprise competition, the platform supports multi-model flexibility, allowing users to run workflows using both Google’s Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude models. Strict security measures, including cryptographically attested identities, audit logs, sandboxing, and agent gateways, are built in to regulate permissions and protect sensitive data.
