Nvidia Corp. is in advanced talks to acquire artificial intelligence startup Hugging Face in a transaction that could total about $14 billion, according to people familiar with the matter. An agreement by Nvidia to acquire Hugging Face for $12.9 billion could be reached as soon as this week, said one of the people, who asked not to be identified because the details are private. The deal could include a $1 billion retention package for Hugging Face employees, the person said. A final agreement hasn’t been reached and the timing or details could still change, the people said. Representatives for Nvidia and Hugging Face declined to comment.
