OpenAI has agreed to acquire Ona, a startup that provides cloud infrastructure for artificial intelligence agents, as the company seeks to make its AI technology more useful to enterprise customers. The transaction, which has not yet closed, will bring Ona’s team into OpenAI’s Codex division, according to an announcement expected Thursday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition underscores OpenAI’s growing focus on AI agents—software systems capable of carrying out tasks autonomously over extended periods.
