As businesses adopt AI agents that can read, write and analyze enterprise data, the industry conversation centers around AI model capabilities and prompts.  It’s easy to get caught up in all the excitement, but a critical question remains on the table: What about enforcement? A Cloud Security Alliance survey found that 68% of organizations can’t accurately identify AI agent activity compared to human activity, and 74% said agents often receive more access than necessary. Simply put, the governance infrastructure for agentic AI accessing enterprise file data does not yet exist. The space between risk and readiness is wide right now, and it’s in this space that cyberthreats slip in.
