Websites face renewed disruption.
Canonical said a distributed denial-of-service attack disrupted access to several of its public websites, causing intermittent outages and service interruptions. The attack primarily affected web properties such as ubuntu.com, canonical.com, developer resources, and security advisory services, while Launchpad and the Snap Store remained available. Most services were restored after several hours, but the company did not disclose who was behind the attack or how large it was. The incident follows a more disruptive attack earlier this year that affected software distribution services and was later claimed by a hacktivist group.
