Change Healthcare Breach Impact Doubles to 190M People 

New evidence has been reported, suggesting that over half of the U.S. population was affected by a ransomware attack on UnitedHealth subsidiary Change Healthcare. In one of the largest data breaches ever recorded, it was originally believed that 100 million Americans were impacted. However, UnitedHealth is now reporting the number to be approximately 190 million, almost doubling the original total of victims. Hackers are believed to have obtained personally identifying information (PII), in rare cases including Social Security numbers. Change Healthcare ended up paying a $22 million ransom in the incident.
