Personal Information Exposed in Apollo Global Data Breach

Apollo discloses breach tied to broader BlackFile vishing campaign.

Apollo Global Management says a social‑engineering intrusion allowed attackers to access cloud platforms between July 6 and 10, potentially exposing names, contact details and Social Security numbers, though there’s no evidence of public leaks or fraud. The breach appears linked to the BlackFile group, which has used IT‑helpdesk‑themed vishing to target major private equity and financial firms across several countries. While many organizations detected or blocked attempts, Apollo is the only confirmed compromise so far. BlackFile has rapidly expanded operations since early 2026 and reportedly collected over $10 million in ransom payments in just five months.
