ShinyHunters hacking group which operates an extortion model by stealing data through breaches claims it has hacked the United States Federal Bureau of Invesigation. The group posted this message when FBI said that it is investigating cyber disruptions that happened to recruitment portal. ShinyHunters claimed they have exfiltrated sensitive data containing details on thousands of current and former employees, special agents, and job applicants. FBI confirmed it is actively investigating unauthorized activity involving FBI.jobs.gov which is the recruitment website for the federal agency. Both FBI.jobs.gov and Special Agent Applicant Portal suffered outages and are temporarily unavailable.
