EU sanctions nearly 1,600 Russian people and firms linked to drone and missile parts

Sanctions target military suppliers.

The European Union imposed sanctions on nearly 1,600 Russian individuals and companies, focusing on businesses linked to the production of drones, missiles, and other military equipment. The measures also targeted dozens of people accused of organizing or participating in elections held in occupied parts of Ukraine. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said the goal is to increase pressure on Moscow, particularly by disrupting supply chains supporting Russia’s missile production. The latest action brings the EU’s total sanctions list to more than 4,500 people and entities connected to Russia’s war effort and broader support networks.
