Saudi Energy Minister Vows Deadly Response After Deadly Houthi Airport and Oil Facility Attacks

Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister, Prince Abdul Aziz bin Salman, has promised a “serious” response following a series of deadly Houthi attacks targeting the kingdom’s airports and energy facilities. The recent escalation included a missile strike on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport that killed 13 people, followed by subsequent attacks on terminals and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam. The Houthi movement stated the strikes were launched in retaliation for ongoing coalition air raids in Yemen, which have also resulted in civilian casualties in Sanaa. Despite the attacks occurring near the WPC Energy Congress in Riyadh, Prince Abdul Aziz reassured international attendees that the country remains safe and resilient. Acknowledging that energy security can no longer be taken for granted, the minister emphasized that Saudi Arabia is fully determined to overcome these critical infrastructure challenges.
