Apple has deployed an update to protect devices from the DarkSword Exploit.

Apple has expanded iOS and iPadOS updates to older devices to protect against the DarkSword exploit kit, which targets six iOS vulnerabilities and enables full device compromise with minimal user interaction. Security researchers previously warned that DarkSword was used by both state‑sponsored groups and commercial spyware vendors, with an estimated 200 million devices potentially vulnerable. The new iOS 18.7.7 update includes patches for two dozen security flaws, covering risks such as kernel code execution, keychain access, and activation lock bypass. Apple has now made these protections available to a wide range of older iPhone and iPad models through automatic updates.
