ESA investigates breach of external engineering servers.
The European Space Agency confirmed that a small number of external servers used for unclassified engineering work were compromised after a hacker claimed to be selling stolen data. Officials said the affected systems sit outside the agency’s core network and that a forensic investigation is underway to secure devices and assess the impact. The hacker, using the alias “888,” posted on BreachForums offering 200 GB of alleged ESA data, including source code and access tokens. ESA has notified stakeholders and says it will provide further updates as the inquiry continues.
