Indonesia expands firefighting as haze spreads regionally.
Indonesia intensified ground and aerial operations as El Niño‑driven fires burned tens of thousands of hectares across Sumatra and Borneo, sending haze into Malaysia and Brunei. President Prabowo visited affected provinces and pledged more helicopters, oxygen supplies and outreach as satellite data showed thousands of active hotspots. Malaysia and Indonesia increased cloud‑seeding while poor air quality forced school closures and disrupted travel.
